INTRODUCTION

Jesy, Rasian and I have been working on our second math task which is the crossword puzzle. You can make your own by going onto this website https://worksheets.theteacherscorner.net/make-your-own/crossword/

DLO:
Communicate and interpret locations and directions, using compass directions, distances and grid references. We had to be able to know the meanings of the word and how they relatable to the topic.

REFLECTION

In conclusion, I think we all done a very good job on the crossword puzzle and coming up with tricky ideas that can test your knowledge. If you have time try to complete our crossword or even make your own. YAY!

Relflection- maths

Introduction
In maths, we have been learning about Geometry.
we have been given different topics to complete I have chosen to represent objects with drawings and model. this challenge allows us to use our body-kinesthetic intelligence.

Digital learning object.
We had to be able to complete this task we had to learn what the difference is between 2D and 3D shapes.
we also did some challenges on khan academy and collected some information from the website.

circle

Reflection:
at first working with just Rasian was a challenge because we didn't really know what we were doing then jesy came into the group and we actually tried instead of being lazy because jesy knew what she was doing and she actually understood it.
It was pretty easy to do the shapes because we knew what we were doing before we did it.

Science

Today In science we made a sail thing for a pretend boat. Me and my group didn’t  really do much but we started something.

We have been working on balanced and unbalanced forces.

We did a worksheet explaining what it is and how it becomes that.

We have tested this on a model by using a cardboard, string and cellotape.

For our model we cut out some of the cardboard stuck it onto our model so when the wind blows it has less weight to push causing the model to go further and faster.

We could’ve improved by actually doing the work.

English- The Power Of One essay

Note: this is not completed yet. maybe a work in progress.

In The Power Of One, the director, John Avildsen used so many amazing techniques to make an amazing movie. This movie is really inspirational because you get to see how someone changes the world by stopping something really big that happened for so many years. Apartheid should never happen to anyone. No matter if you're black, white, yellow, purple. The white treat the black like they are a piece of poo at the bottom of their shoe. These techniques have been used in the movie: camera angles and camera shots, diegetic sound and dialogue. These techniques were used in such great ways to make everyone feel different emotions about what is happening.

In The Power Of One. In the scene that we are working on, which is where P.K gets bullied. There was a lot of close-ups used very nicely. For example, the director used this at one point so he can show that P.K doesn't look so scared towards jaapie botha. They make it so he looks really fearless. He doesn't take his eyes off jaapie the whole entire time. The director did this to show the way that P.K looks and feels in that scene. This helps us understand that P.K was so scared but he didn't want to show it. This is important because the audience needs to see the way that the character looks like and so they can see how the character feels.

In addition to this. In that scene, the director used long shot. We see this when the kids are carrying P.K into the room. The director Also uses this so then we can see the characters body language. For example, the director used long shot in this scene so then you can see who is bringing P.K in the room. The director did this so then we can see the way that the characters feel and how they look at the moment in that time. This technique shows us the way everyone is in the scene. This is important because long shot can show a lot of emotion and action.

In the scene that we are working on the director used mid shot for when P.K is walking into the room. He was Talking about how Hitler arriving caused him more problems bed wetting ever had before. For example, the director used mid shot so then you can see P.K and where he's walking. The director did this so then we could see P.K and how he looks at that point in the scene. This makes the audience feel like they have the same feeling as P.K. This is important because you need to see what P.K is doing and how he is feeling otherwise you won't really get what's going on.

In conclusion, The Power Of One by John Avildsen is a film that is very inspirational.

music- matariki. 2/5/18

Matariki begins on 15 June in 2018.

what does matariki mean?
matariki has two meanings both of which refer to the cluster of stars. mata riki means tiny eyes and mata ariki means eyes of god.

matariki was once popular but it stopped in the 1940s. luckily in the 2000s it was brought back. only a few people took part at the first time it came back. but in a few years thousands of people joined in the honouring of the new Zealand thanks giving.

traditionally, matariki was a time to remember those who died in the last year.

health- share learning SMART goals. 15/3/18

The class made a 'treaty'. what was this about?
Our class treaty was made together by everyone making up ideas of what we wanted to happen with the students and teachers so for example. no swearing, no bullying blah blah. because we want our class to be a safe environment.

What did you share about yourself with your class?
I shared what i my dream hob was and other things.

Was there anything you felt difficult to share? why?
yes there was. because some of it was personal.

What did you learn about goal setting?
when goal setting it is important to make sure its believable.
when you set a goal make sure you make it good.

What is your SMART goal, was there any barriers? if so what are your enablers?
i dont remember any of this bit.
